Stamping with aMac March 2021 Craft Retreat

What a wonderful weekend we had at our Sale-A-Bration retreat! We had loads of craftalicious fun, laughs, crafting and sharing at Bornhoffen.

I had 31 beautiful ladies join me for the weekend in this beautiful setting. The food was amazing too! Apparently everyone is going on a diet when they got home.

Bornhoffen PCYC is situated in the Gold Coast hinterland, a few km south of Natural Bridge. It’s surrounded by rolling hills and is such a tranquil setting.

I arrived early to set up the room with the help of Teresa and Meg 😘

I was fundraising for Breast Cancer Research. I combined my online Pink Run fundraiser with my retreat. I completed a 5 km walk on the day because I wasn’t able to run but I’ll be able to do that soon…

The donations from the retreat attendees came to an amazing $1167.50!!!

Other online donations received from my Stampin’ Up! Family totalled another $265 and the over all total of donations received is $1781.50!

First prize was the Mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine! Congratulations Belinda!

There were lots of other prizes generously donated by several people attending and others who weren’t at the retreat. Thank you Anna, Peta, Jackie M, Laura, Meg, Jenny S and Maureen for donating to the prize pool.

I am humbled by your generosity. Thank you for supporting a worth cause. 100% of money raised is going to Breast Cancer Research.

We had a wonderful display and it was set up by my team member Meg. Thanks so much for your help.

I also had Jackie McGee provide a lovely display board for me.

We even got to celebrate a Birthday on Saturday – Happy Birthday to Colleen!

Chef Donna made a special cake for the special occasion.

Here’s our wonderful groups of crafters who had a great time with good fun being had by all!

I loved walking around and chatting to everyone and seeing what they had been creating.

    The talent is amazing!

I also love the generous nature of everyone, willing to share their ideas and projects, and help each other out.

Here’s just some of the MANY projects that were created over the weekend. Some ladies were very productive!

On the other hand… I managed to complete 2 cards 🤷

    Pillow gifts…

I want to say another big THANK YOU to all of you who came. Thank you to all of my wonderful helpers behind the scenes, before the event with setting up and pack down and clean up.

Thanks to everyone chipping in with the meal time clean up duties.

Thank you so much to Maree, Teresa and Deanne for your prep and help behind the scenes ahead of the event, Teresa and Meg with the set up of the room, Meg for transporting all the Goodie bags, Raffle prizes and more and Laura for your beautiful make and take.

Thanks to my husband Wade for the many hours you help behind the scenes, the IT stuff, spreadsheets, patience and much more. As well as putting up with a house full of ‘boxes’ for months at a time…

Huge THANKS to everyone who helped with the pack down and clean up, especially Teresa and Danielle!!! I really appreciate all of your help and support.

I am blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life.

Thank you for my beautiful Thank you cards and gifts! It’s so unexpected but very much appreciated.
My heart is full knowing that you all thoroughly enjoyed your weekend away.

Due to popular demand, there’s been requests to extend the retreat an extra day and night.

More to come once I speak to Bornhoffen about dates…

    Happy stamping,

    Angela xox

    Card Class March 2021

I held my March card classes a few days ago and we made the following cards. We used the Hydrangea Hill Suite.

I had five wonderful  groups of ladies attend classes and they all left very happy with their creations.

For our first card, we used the brick embossing folder for the background, then to get the shimmer around the edges, we used the new blending brushes with shimmer paint.

The shimmer paint is so easy to use and you get a lovely finish with the new blending brush.

The flower of the hydrangea was cut out of the DSP using the Hydrangea Dies.

The card has a lot of detail with multi layers and is finished off perfectly with the Gorgeous Grape ribbon bow.

We used Rococco Rose cardstock for the base of this card adding a bit of pink.

The background was created using the Old World Paper Textured 3D Embossing Folder which gives a lovely effect. The stem of the hydrangea was stamped using the two-step stamping in the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set.

The hydrangea flower head was simply die cut using the Hydrangea Dies. We popped  the petals out and added extra Gorgeous Grape and Basic White flowers for more colour and texture.

We used Wink of Stella on the hydrangea flower to give it some sparkle and finished the card off using the Pastel Pearl embellishments.

On this card we used Balmy Blue as the card base then we fussy cut the gorgeous Hydrangea DSP  to use as a background.

For the stem, we stamped the whole flower image in Memento Black – cut it out with the dies, then added the Old Olive leaf accents which were also cut with the Hydrangea Dies.

We then layered the hydrangea flower over the the top using the solid image, popping up the petals and covering it with Wink of Stella for that extra bit of sparkle.

There are some lovely greetings in this Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set – we chose ‘The world is better because of you’.

What a special sentiment to share with someone.

This Misty Moonlight card is fairly simple with a little bit of layering. Once again we used the gorgeous Hydrangea DSP cutting it out with the dies.

We stamped on the base of the card in Misty Moonlight  just to add a little bit of background detail.

The greeting was made using the Triple Banner Punch and the ribbon was fishtailed to match the shape of the label.

The card is finished off using lots of leaves and Pastel Pearl embellishments.

Some new crafters have joined my class –  I want to extend a warm welcome to Leanne and Nicole.

Nicole was the happy winner of one of the lucky door prizes from Craft Alive. I met Leanne and Nicole there when they visited our Stampin’ Up! stall a few weeks ago at the Gold Coast Turf Club.

The last pic is Leanne and Helen showing off the wonderful cards that they made at class. They were very happy with what they made.

Looking forward to another class with you all…

I run card my classes on the first Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the month.

So if you’d like to get creative with like-minded ladies, check out my class schedule for upcoming classes and book one in.

    Happy stamping,

    Angela

  • Card-making Classes,  Christmas Cards

    Final card class for 2020

For our final class of the year we made four Christmas cards and an ornament.

For our first card we use the beautiful Snowflake Wishes bundle.

This card was cased from Martin Stone.

We used Pretty Peacock for the card base and the front as well. Snowflake Splendor ribbon is attached with a staple for the embellishment. There’s also a hint of Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper if you look carefully.

I love the depth of the colour of the Pretty Peacock card stock. To finish the card off, we splattered it with Wink of Stella by flicking the end of the brush.

I hope you like this card as much as I do.

I found this card on Pinterest and cased it as well.

I made a few changes, using what I had, but this is a lovely way to use the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The card base is thick Very Vanilla card stock and the greeting is from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set which is stamped on the Stitched Nestled Labels dies.

Everyone loved using the new Stampin’ Cut and Embossing Machine (replaced the Big Shot) which we used to cut out some of the pieces.

The Star Designer element and the ribbon finish off the card beautifully.

This next card uses my design. It is a double easel card and I used thick Whisper White cut in half length ways for the main base of the card.

For the remainder of the card I used Misty Moonlight cut slightly smaller but still length ways.

Once again I used the Snowflake Wishes bundle and some silver foil for the snowflakes, as well as frosted and clear epoxy droplets for the embellishments.

We stamped on the front part of the card and ran the rest through the Winter Snow embossing folder.

I love the greeting, ‘May your season sparkle’… it’s kinda cute.

For our last card we made this simple but elegant card using the window die out of the Snowflake Bundle.

We heat embossed the greeting add a bit more style and texture to the card.

I love the effect of this die creating a little window to peek through.

The foil is embossed with the 3D Evergreen Forest embossing folder which just looks stunning!

Our last project was a just for a bit of extra fun. Wade and I had to prune some branches off a gum tree in the back yard, so I thought that I could use a repurposed section of the branch as a base for Christmas decorations.

I came up with this ornament to hang on a tree.

I used the retired Dashing Deer Stamp, along with some Rhinestones (coloured with the Real Red Stampin’ blend pen) and used the beautiful Real Red sheer ribbon and some gold metallic trim from the Forever Greenery trim.

I would love to thank all of my wonderful customers for your support by coming to my classes and shopping with me ❤️.

It’s been a challenging year but we’ve made it.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I very much look forward to crafting with you in the new year.

    Happy Stamping,
    Angela

Paula was soooo excited to get a few photos with him and it made for an exciting start to her weekend!

I loved walking around and chatting to everyone and checking out what they had been working on.

    The talent in amazing!

I also love the generous nature of everyone, willing to share their ideas and projects, and help each other out. Here’s just some of the many projects that were created over the weekend.

    Bird Ballad Suite Class

At our last class we all received the beautiful Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards and Tin! We made four cards and had lots to take home with what was left over.

Our first card was cased from the catalogue. There was a lot of stamping and a little watercolouring involved. It’s a pretty simple card but looks lovely with the laser cut card.

The embellishments add a nice finishing touch.

For our second card we stamped on watercolour paper and coloured the birds with watercolour pencils and activated them with the aqua painter.

We stamped, coloured and fussy cut the flowers and once again finished the card off with the beautiful Bird Ballad Trinkets.

The Old Olive card stock provides a nice contrast behind the laser cut card.

On our third card we had the option to cut out the centre of the laser cut card to use on another project.

We used Crumb Cake as the background colour.

The birds were cut out from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper using the Stitched Shapes Dies and I used the scalloped Lace Trim to create a border around the focal part.

I kept the last card very simple using Pretty Peacock and Very Vanilla.

I wanted to feature the laser card as much as possible and I love the contrast the Pretty Peacock provides.

I cut the top off the die cut to create a banner and to disguise the ‘missing stitching’ and added the Scalloped Lace Trim with another gorgeous flower trinket from the suite.

Please check out my schedule for upcoming classes and contact me if you’d like to join us.

Don’t forget to make the most of Sale-A-Bration! There’s only a few weeks to go…

    Happy stamping,

    Angela
