Stamping with aMac July 2021 Craft Retreat

Apologies for the lateness of this Craft Retreat post – my website had been down for a bit over a week but is back on deck now.

What a wonderful weekend getaway we had. We were so very fortunate to enjoy it given the current COVID-19 circumstances.

I arrived early to set up the room with the help of Maree, Robyn and Theresa 😘

At this retreat, we were fundraising for Bornhoffen PCYC to buy flyscreens for the windows of the hall. This will benefit us greatly in the warmer months when moths and beetles are attracted to the lights at night.

We raised an amazing $630 and I’ve been informed that the screens are getting installed in 2 weeks’ time!

Thanks so much to everyone’s generosity!

    We had some wonderful displays…

We also celebrated Toni’s birthday with a lovely fresh cake!

Here’s our wonderful groups of crafters who had a great time with good fun being had by all!

Here’s just some of the MANY projects that were created over the weekend. Some ladies were very productive!

A huge THANKYOU to all you who came and extra thanks to all those who helped out in various ways. I really appreciate you. 😘

Looking forward to our next retreat 12-15 November. Let me know if you want to join us!

    Happy Stamping,

    Angela 😊x

Card Class May 2021 – Butterfly Brilliance

I’m excited to share that I designed all of the cards for this class that we had last month. We used the Butterfly Brillance bundle and the Very Versailles stamp set.

    Vintage Card

I used Pool Party and Crumb Cake on this card. I love the two colours together.

Combining the Crumb Cake colour, sponging and distressing makes it easy to create a vintage look. I used the Very Versailles stamp for the subtle background as well as a butterfly.

The die cut butterflies were also sponged to age them and the card was finished off with a few pearls on the greeting and some linen thread.

    Elegant Card

I love the combination of Blushing Bride with Night Of Navy! Don’t you think it goes so well together?

I used a few layers to give a bit of depth to this simple card. The card base is Basic White, the second layer is Night of Navy and the background white layer was stamped in Blushing Bride.

I used an ‘E’ size Stampin’ Up! Acrylic block for the subtle rectangle background then stamped the beautiful foliage from the Very Versailles stamp set.

The butterfly was die cut using the Brilliant Wings Dies and embellished with gold thread and gold faceted gems.

The greeting was stamped using the Art Gallery stamp and it fit perfectly into the Treasured Tags Pick a punch.

    Fancy Fold Card

This is a super simple but amazingly effective fancy fold card.

I used Mint Macaron as the base and stamped the Butterfly Brilliance stamp on the front. The inside strip was decorated with the limited-edition Butterfly Bijou DSP which sold out super quickly!

The centre flap has the Very Versailles background under the Brilliant Wings Die cut butterfly which is finished off with some Basic Pearls.

    Splash of Colour Card

I used Magenta Madness as the bold base card and stamped in in matching ink once again using the Very Versailles stamp for the background. We added a strip embossed with the Painted Texture 3D folder.

The different colours on the butterflies were created by sponging different sections in different colours and stamping on the Basic White using the Stamparatus. We then die cut the images and used dimensionals to pop them up.

The biggest butterfly has a small die cut for extra texture and it’s finished off with Wink Of Stella for some subtle sparkle.

If you would like to join us for classes, we’ll be using the Artistically Inked Suite in July.

    Card Class April 2021

I held my April card classes last week and we made the following cards using the Handsomely Suited Bundle. They were fun Covid-safe classes, with five groups of ladies over three days.

I cased this from the Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalogue but made a few changes.

This card is so stylish and is a great masculine card. The handkerchief was stamped using the tip of the Tie stamp and hand cut to fit.

I cased this card from Stamp it up with Jaimie.

I changed the colours of the DSP and ties. This is another simple but very effective masculine card and the ladies at class had fun changing it up more to make them individual.

I love seeing the creativity of my happy stampers when they finish their creations.

I cased this next card from Juleen Henderson.

We used the retired Cable Knit Embossing Folder as it was highly effective. I love the simplicity of this card but you do need to think about the order of layering before you stick pieces together.

I found popping the collar up on dimensionals looked great and made adding the centre strip easier.

I wanted to use this bundle to show that you could make feminine cards with it too.

This was my design after lots of playing. I wanted to use the bows in the bundle but ended up using ribbon. The V can be cut using the dies and the Dainty Diamond embossing folder added a lovely texture.

I used the button die to cut silver foil for the necklace and the stitched strip as the waist band on the dress. I hope you like it.

They were the four cards we made at class but here’s a few more that I made as samples to show the versatility of this bundle.

I came up with this design while playing around. It has a lot of pieces and detail that was layered. I added a double lapel using contrasting Very Vanilla for the collar.

The detail in the pocket is lace ribbon and the necklace was made using gold cord, a tiny flower from the Hydrangea Dies and a Pearl. I used the Ornate floral 3D embossing folder to add texture to the jacket.

I even added some skin tone above the collar.

I hope you like my card.

This card was very simple, the bow used as the embellishment is from the Handsomely Suited dies, I ran it through the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder for extra detail.

I had fun creating this card at my last retreat. I cased it from Danielle Howard who cased it from Pinterest.

I made a few changes and added my twist. I love the simple, clean look of this card.

The tee-shirt with red bow tie gives it a ‘Sheldon’ look. The lapel and pocket was covered in packing tape before cutting it out with the dies, this give it the shinny look.

The main part of the suit was run through the Subtle embossing folder.

The ladies from Wednesday night class – thanks for allowing me to share your photos.

I love seeing your variations of the cards. Creativity was flowing!

I hope you enjoy this collection. If you want to come to my classes, please contact me.
