    Bird Ballad DSP

Have a look at my product of the week. This gorgeous Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper co-ordinates beautifully with the ‘Free as a Bird’ stamp set. This paper is so versatile and can be used for feminine and masculine cards.

Images in the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper were handcoloured using Stampin’ Blends for a soft, blended look.

Check out the pop and twist card I made

In this short video I share a special card that I made using the gorgeous Bird Ballad DSP. This was my first ever pop and twist card and I was pretty happy with the result. I cased the front from Rachel Woolard off pinterest.

I paired it together with the Free as a Bird stamp and other items in the suite. The lace front is from the lase cut cards and the ribbon and embellishment is from the suite.

    Come Sail Away

Last week we had fun creating this set of four masculine cards and envelopes using a variety of masking and heat embossing techniques. I love this Sailing Home bundle! It’s such a wonderful set.

Remember to dress up your envelope, it’s as easy as stamping it!

The four cards we made were inspired by Angela Meiritz-Reid who is a 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team Member. Her designs incorporated the Come Sail Away Memories and More card pack.

The backgrounds on my cards used a retired stencil with embossing paste, spritzing with ink and shimmer paint, sponging and using a textured embossing folder.

On this card, I used embossing paste with a drop of Night of Navy Ink and applied it through the mask using a SU spatula. To speed up the drying process, I used the heat tool.

The lighthouse is stamped on vellum using versamark ink and heat embossed in white. The greeting is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set and the rope image was stamped off to add that extra bit of character.

The edges have been distressed to add extra texture.

For the background of this card, I filled a Stampin’ Spritzer with Isocol rubbing alcohol, a drop of night of navy ink and a drizzle of Champagne Mist shimmer paint and gave it a good shake.

To get the uneven softened edge on top and bottom, I tore scrap paper and placed it on top of the background stripes mask then sprayed through the mask using the spritzer mix.

The seaweed is from this lovely bundle and is cut out in night of navy and the anchor is heat embossed in silver on silver foil. The backers twine is looped and knotted through the anchor.

The yachts and birds are stamped in night of navy.

For this card I used the corrugated 3D textured embossing folder and tore the top and bottom edge for more texture. The birds were simply stamped and the light house was stamped in night of navy ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder then cut out with the lighthouse die.

I also attached some silver metallic thread behind the light house. The ships wheel is glued on the front of the light house using tombo liquid glue. I  used the bakers twine on the anchor and unravelled the ends slightly for more texture.

I then attached the anchor simply by using a glue dot.

On this card I simply sponged through the mask to create the background. The seaweed and ships wheel are cut out using the dies, the large yacht is stamped in night of navy on vellum and heat embossed with clear heat embossing powder.

It’s attached with double side tape. The small yacht and bird are stamped. The rhinestone on the ships wheel was coloured using a night of navy Stampin’ Blend marker.

The greeting and label is also from the Come Sail Away bundle.

I hope you like the Sailing Home bundle as much as I do. It’s such a versatile suite and is available in my store. If you’re in Australia, please shop with me.
