Pigment Sprinkles Pop Up Class
March 1, 2020 /Last weekend I held a Pigment Sprinkles Pop Up class.
Pigment Sprinkles are intense watercolour pigment crystals (very fine powder). You mix them with water to activate them. They are fantastic for watercolour backgrounds, washes and a variety of techniques which I taught.
There’s six jars in the pack and everyone got their own to keep as well as a 2-pack of Stampin’ Spritzers.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the class and we all got very inky. The great thing is, it’s water based and does wash off in water off your skin and off your clothes!
What I love about pigment sprinkles is that no two cards will ever be the same!
For these cards we heat embossed in white on Fluid 100 Watercolour paper. We then added the sprinkles and spritzed it with water and allowed to dry before finishing off the cards.Â
For these cards we first spayed the watercolour paper and then added the sprinkles. You have more control over the colour this way. Look at all of the beautiful cards we made.
This card was cased from Anna Wheaton.
It was made using shimmer white paper, this also work very well with lots of water. We wet the plain card base first, then added the Bermuda Bay Sprinkles.
The lily and pad were embossed in black , spritzed with water, sprinkled with different colour pigment and the colour was moved around with an aqua painter.
For this card we used the watercolour paper and embossed the baloons in Copper heat embossing powder. We then spritzed so it was damp.
We sprinkled a tiny bit of pigment of several colours onto a take away container lid, added water to it with the aqua painter and then coloured in the sections with the aqua painter.
For these cards we used the ‘salt technique’.
Once again we used watercolour paper, sprinkled the colour of choice pigment, sprayed it with water so it was very wet then sprinkled salt flakes over the top and let it dry naturally.
The salt flakes create amazing patterns as you can see.
For this last card we spritzed the watercolour paper, added the sprinkles and then brayered to spread the colour over the entire sheet.
When dry, we heat embossed in the gorgeous new sparkling white embossing powder.
We made a total of six cards but we played with another couple of techniques using ironing starch.
It’s a little ironic that I bought the starch as I’m an occasional ironer… 😅Â
We used glad wrap and bubble wrap for the effects.
Here’s what I made with some my “practice” samples. These little tags were inspired by Pink Buckaroo. They are simply punched out and attached to the Bird Ballad Die cut.
The ladies got to take these home to make something with.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this. If you’d like to join us for classes please contact me.
Remember to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration until the end of March. Every $90 spend earns you a freebie from the SAB calalogue, 2 entries into the $30 gift voucher draw and a card and surprise gift from me.

Peaceful Poppies Suite Class
February 9, 2020 /We had fun in our classes this week creating 4 cards using the gorgeous Peaceful Poppies Suite.
Our first card was a ‘Z fold’ card that I cased from Pinterest and added my own twists to. A lovely friend, Laura Stranks provided the dimensions and instructions for me.
This card was designed by one of my lovely team members at my last retreat! Thanks Mel Moldoveanu for letting me case your lovely card.
This card is suitable for any greeting that’s in the Peaceful Moments stamp set! It’s simple but so effective with the colours used.
Once again, you can use any greeting with this super simple card. The Designer Series Paper is so beautiful and can be used as the feature on the card.
I stamped the partial poppy image with the greeting, then cut it out using the Painted Label Dies.Â
This card uses a couple of the poppy images as well as both splotches. They create a splash of colour.
I do recommend stamping off beforehand, especially using the Rich Razzleberry ink with the large splotch.Â
These cards were quite simple to create and the products used make them very effective.Â
